2019-10-10 - TV Taper Time
Yikes, the fall long races are here. For those of you getting in those last miles, remember, you can only run too much, not too little during your taper time. No matter how your running went, training time is over. Some of us have done all the work and the race will just be a celebration. Some of us have not done the work so we will be doing all the work on race day! Either way, it's time to lick our wounds and store gas in the tank for our big day. Running is hard, not running can be harder but is a must ... Drop the miles and up the tempo a bit to sharpen into race day ... Enjoy the extra time you have, perhaps a TV taper!
Taper it up,
Randy Step, an admitted obsessed runner who wrote this to myself as I promise to taper heavy to chase away a bit of a nagging calf issue.
PS: In a rut? Has your ho-hum work life got you down? Do you feel like it may be time to run away and join the circus? Is this starting to sound like a shameless plug for a job opening at RF Events? Yep!
The circus position we have open requires a person with great graphic design and social media skills who can wake up to a 3:30am alarm with a smile on their face knowing it's SHOWTIME and can't wait to put in a 16 hour day where they get to see all their hard work unfold! Read up on all of the details and apply here!
2019-10-02 - Read then run
When you just can't muster up the energy to get out the door, sit back and open a running magazine or book. Chances are, your running fire will soon be re-lit, or perhaps the guilt may set in. Either way, you will decide it's time put down what you are reading and head out for a run, a run that will leave you fulfilled and wondering why you would have ever skipped it! That said, a motivational running movie can get you excited about our sport and leave you with motivational thoughts that can get you out the door for days on end. There are never enough running themed movies but here are a couple new ones to fire you up! Just watching the trailers got me out today for 6 miles in the rain. By the way, the rain felt glorious!
