We're bringing back the points-based trail running series for 2026! We all love running the trails, so now it's time to take the fun and the competition to another level! Hit the trails and see if you have what is takes to be the G.O.A.T. of Michigan trail running! Complete the entire GOAT Trail Series in 2026, one race at each event, and receive a custom award! |

Run a race at all of the series events.
- Trail Weekend - April 25
- Run Woodstock - Sept. 11-12
- Bonfyre Trail Fest - Nov. 7
There’s no separate series registration required. Just sign up for your races and hit the trails!
You can compete in one of two categories for overall awards or any category for the Leader of the Herd awards:
- Sprint - 5K or 5M distance races
- Open - all other race distances
Remember that you must complete a race at all three events for both the overall and Leader of the Herd awards.
Points will be awarded based on finishing place in each race (5K, 5M, etc.), per gender, at each of the events.
- 1st place - 1000 pts
- 2nd place - 999 pts
- 3rd place - 998 pts
- ...
Your total race points will be used to determine the Leader of the Herd awards.
Top three point totals for each gender in each category.
Point totals will be based on the open and sprint race categories.
Ties will be given to the person with the most points in an individual race.
Total points for all of your series races, regardless of category.
- Golden Goat - 4,600 pts
- Silver Goat - 3,800 pts
- Bronze Goat - 3,000 pts
