Obsessed Runner Blog

November 12, 2008 - It looks like we are in for some tough days.

Yo Run Gang,

On the economic side it looks like we are in for some tough days and as Ive said so often, we are fortunate to have running to get us though. With the mental and physical health we get from our runs we can better handle adversity. Running puts us in a better position to be a positive and helping source for others as well as ourselves. We will all be looking for value in not only what we buy but also in what we do. Running will be a valuable use of our time; a great return on the time we invest each week. A short run can go a long way!

At Running Fit, we continually work hard to find and offer products based on value. As runners ourselves, we test products for performance, durability and price. Our goal is to carefully fit you into the proper footwear and apparel that will keep you injury free, comfortable in all conditions and will last, adding to the return on your running investment.

We encourage you to encourage others to get out the door; the best way is to lead by example.

Enjoy every healthy day,
Randy Step, an obsessed runner, and the faithful running crew at Running Fit who share your passion.

2013-03-27 - Hope springs

Yo run gang,
March 27, 2013

The weather sucks but we just have to ignore it and get out the door ... like we always do!

Work, money, power and war are similar to bad weather but once again, when we head out for a run, we find true peace in the moment, the gray sky seems not so gray and the nonsense of the world takes a back seat.

What does this prove? Perhaps the run is the important part of our life and the rest is the nonsense we should strive to escape. The world may never be at peace and the sun may not come out for months but we can be out running and living a fulfilling, fun life in the moment ... Winning the cold war! Ha!

Regardless of the reports on the weather channel and the top of the hour news about bank failures in Cypress, the walls at Running Fit are blooming with the warm weather fashions colors of spring and the new running shoe models, bringing  hope ... that spring is eternal ... As opposed to "Hope springs eternal!" (I had to look that last line up to get it right!) Ha!

The run can be the sun,

Randy Step, an admitted obsessed runner, as dedicated as a mail carrier!

PS: The long winter has challenged even the best of us to be ready for the early racing season. That said, the Chocolate Milk Martian Invasion of Races is just two weeks away, April 13th. For those of you not ready to toe the line, consider volunteering to be part of Ground Control and help make the Invasion possible. You'll get the very cool "Obey Me" shirt along with a $30 voucher for a future Running Fit event! You can even volunteer Thursday and Friday and still race on Saturday! Volunteer now! February 2, 2011 - Let it snow...

Yo run gang,

Let it snow, we can handle it, heck, we choose to live in Michigan for a reason. The 4 seasons add variety and excitement to our daily runs, walks or slogs. You bring it on, we go play in it! The satisfaction of just getting out, breaking a healthy sweat and breathing in the fresh air is what we live for. Yee ha!

Proof is in the numbers, at the current registration rate for this Sunday's Superbowl  5K run on Feb. 6th, we expect over 2,000 runners and walkers coming out to have some fun, burn some calories and earn the best spot on the couch later that day for the big game. You'll even have the 5k Finisher's pint glass to prove it! Come join the best pre-game nonsense anywhere. Yes, we do have a big, warm indoor space to meet in before and after we frolic in the snow and some traditional Superbowl post race junk food will be served. Enter now at runsuperbowl.com and save a few bucks over the weekend price increase.

Enjoy it all,

Randy Step, an obsessed runner who plans on plodding along with some Cheese Heads & Hard Hats on Sunday. Join me!
