2017-11-08 - Time to dial down
After the New York City Marathon, the last of the big fall events, many of us consider this the official start of the off season, a time to lick the wounds and give the body a break. On February 1st, we'll come back rested and ready to crank on all cylinders! We don't quit running for a few months, heck no, we just dial back, skipping days and keeping the intensity low. No long or hard workouts, no sweating the weekly mileage and no serious racing. A time for some fun holiday Turkey, Hustle races, just don't take them seriously, enjoy! A couple extra pounds will keep us warm, right?

2017-11-01 - Don't let this day get away
This wonderful life can turn south on a dime. One day you run a P.R., the next you can lose a job, be diagnosed with a wicked disease or get injured in an accident. No, I have not had anything tragic happen in my life lately but I'm throwing out a reminder of why every healthy day is a gift and should be cherished. Lace em' up, get outside and live life to the max. When the bad days come, we'll be ready to rest.

2017-10-25 - We fight back!
Cold, wet, windy, dark days are a challenges to the daily run ... NOT! These are the kinds of days that light our internal fire. We thumb our nose at the weather and head out like conquering heroes. To heck with wimpy, sunny, mild fall runs, those nice days only get us so far. It's the days that fight back that leave us with a smug feeling of satisfaction and make us complete. We are the few, the proud, the running warriors excited to do battle with the supposedly big, bad, wet, cold days of November and zero days of winter, bring em' on!
