Many of us, like me, get caught up in our total daily, weekly, and monthly mileage numbers. This can distract us from doing all we can do to be strong, flexible and heathy, so we can do what we love, running. I refer to myself as an obsessed runner and closet triathlete. I switch to triathlon training each summer and I believe in the long run, it has helped my running. I guess it could be called cross training but that term sounds too much like the term exercise, some kind of meaningless torture. I like to say, I’m a runner, I don’t have to exercise to get fit. This is my thought on triathlon training, I’m not cross training, I’m training for my triathlon, so, again, I don’t need to cross train, I’m a triathlete.
Let’s run, bike, swim and do fun stuff so we never have to exercise or cross train!
